Pachakkaya parippu ularthu - Raw plantain and lentil stir-fry

Ingredients
  1. Raw plantain (cut into small cubes) – 2 no
  2. Yellow lentil – ½ cup
  3. Button onion/ shallots (crushed) – 3 pods
  4. Chilly powder – 1 tsp
  5. Coriander powder – 1½ tsp
  6. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  7. Water – 1 cup
  8. Salt – as required
  9. Oil – 2 tbsp
  10. Curry leaves –a few
Method
  1. Cook yellow lentil by adding water and salt.
  2. When it is half done add plantain and cook till both are tender.
  3. Heat oil in a fry pan and add crushed button onion, curry leaves and all the powders.
  4. Saute continuously till all are well fried and oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  5. Add the cooked plantain and lentil and mix well.
  6. When the curry is dry, remove from fire.
