Beef Roast with Potato Wedges
Ingredients- Beef/ Mutton – 1 kg
- Onion (thinly sliced) – 3 nos
- Tomatoes (finely chopped) – 2 no
- Potatoes (cut into long pieces) - 2 nos
- Ginger (thinly sliced) – 2 ” long piece
- Garlic pods (crushed) – 6 nos
- Chilly powder – ½ tbsp
- Coriander powder – 1 ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam Masala powder – 1tbsp
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Salt – as required
- Water – ½ cup
- Curry leaves – a few
- Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – a few
Method- Deep fry potatoes till golden brown and crisp.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry onions, ginger, garlic, curry leaves and salt.
- Fry till onions begin to change its color to light brown.
- Mix all the powders with a little water and make a paste.
- Add this to the pan and fry till oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Add tomatoes and fry till they are tender.
- Add Beef/ Mutton pieces and ½ cup of water and mix well.
- Lower heat and cover the pan with the lid.
- Stir occasionally and cook till Beef/ Mutton is done.
- Open the lid and cook in low flame till the gravy is dry.
- Add the fried potatoes and chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or chapattis.
