Puttu kadala - Steamed rice flour with black chickpeas curry

Ingredients
  1. Roasted rice flour – 1 cup
  2. Grated coconut – ½ cup
  3. Water – ¾ cup (approximately)
  4. Salt – as required
Method
  1. Wet rice flour with water and salt and keep it aside for 30 mins.
  2. Place the above mixture into a sieve with big holes and sift.
  3. Rub with hand to break down any clusters.
  4. Now the mixture will look like breadcrumbs.
  5. Place 1 tbsp of grated coconut and 5 tbsp of rice powder into the puttu steamer (puttukutty).
  6. Repeat the above process to fill the steamer.
  7. Close the steamer with lid and cook till steam comes out of the steamer.
  8. Enjoy hot with kadala curry.

  4. Hi firat time here....loved ur blog and ur recipes....You know,i always have problem with puttu making cos i dont know hiw much water to add!!!!!Isnt that a surprise?..its good that u posted this recipe, there will be people like me around...;)..
